Crystal Climber is the second in our series of playscape bouldering sculptures. Like TrainR, Crystal Climber is designed both for free-play practice and as a venue for teaching bouldering. And like its big sister, Crystal provides all of the challenges needed to become a good climber. There is a significant overhang to surmount and areas that present chimney-like spaces that require stemming. Handholds are added in strategic locations so that beginners can negotiate Crystal while advanced boulderers will find traversing Crystal without using the holds an exceptional challenge.

While our Naturals range of climbers are inspired by nature, Crystal Climber is inspired by naturally forming crystals such as rock candy and amethyst. When stained in blue as shown it also invokes the feeling of glaciers. Playscape designers like the way Crystal Climber compliments the look of some of today's more modern and abstract play equipment where a rock-like climber seems out of place.

As an option Crystal Climber can have a stainless steel arch attached. The Arch provides a fun climbing addition and heightens the "alien landscape" look.

The standard color for Crystal Climber is blue. Other color options include natural concrete at no charge and client chosen colors at a $500 additional charge.

TrainR is a multi-component curvilinear structure made of tough precast concrete. It is about 9-ft high and fitted with a wide variety of authentic climbing grips. It's big, it's funky, it bends, it twists - and it teaches real climbing techniques.

Indoor climbing gyms were our inspiration, but the challenge was to take them outdoors and make them kid-friendly. No ropes. No supervision. But all the thrills. TrainR climbing walls are designed to emphasize horizontal climbing or "bouldering" rather than vertical climbing. We lay a tall climb on its side so it is both challenging and safe.

Kids learn and use the skills and techniques perfected in places like Yosemite and the Grand Tetons, where rock climbing pioneers challenged each other to see if a new, harder and more challenging route, as climbers say, "goes" to the summit. TrainR offers all climbing routes that "go."

By selecting which color holds to use, climbers can discover routes as easy or difficult as they want, all within a few feet of the ground. TrainR provides exercise while being heart-thumping fun. It builds strength, balance and, perhaps most important, confidence.

With hundreds of installations in parks and schools since its introduction in 2000, TrainR is recognized as the premier outdoor gym-style climbing structure for kids ... and adults too!

Each route is a route to success for all climbers.
