Children are most engaged when they are using their imaginations. BOLDR sees a creative void in current playground settings - children are often underestimated and over-directed.

Children are facinated by the very big and the very small. While adults like simplicity and pure form, kids revel in complexity and mess. The reason for that is simple; they are trying to make sense of a very complex world. Playing with toys, big or small, allows them to act out the drama they see about them every day.

By projecting themselves into their play episodes they are able to test and practice real-life situations. It is from their imaginations that their "real" lives are formed.
